Sony streams video to PS3 and PSP
We have noted in previous posts on GoBluray.com how the future of Blu-ray is not completely certain and especially how streaming video may be the major threat to the relapcement of DVD, video and HD-DVD.
Sony has released a press statement on it’s Playstation site noting that they are launching the ‘new service to expand entertainment offering of PLAYSTATION 3 and PSP giving consumers downloadable content when and where they want it’. They carry on to say: ‘Consumers will have the ability to download full-length movies, television shows, and original programming accessible through the PLAYSTATION Store on PLAYSTATION®Network’.
So there we have it …. Playstation was a very early adopter of Blu-ray and looks like one of the first to adopt what increasingly appears to be the replacement of Blu-ray.
