Microsoft will not go to Bluray
There have been quite a few articles recently on the web surrounding Shane Kim from Microsoft (Xbox 360 specifically) and his comments surrounding the Xbox and its adoption of Blu-ray. Rumours surrounding the Xbox 360 with Blu-ray incorporation have been circling for a number of months so Kim’s comments are noteworthy.
If what Kim says is truly the Microsoft stance on Blu-ray (and not just a marketing ploy towards competitors like Sony Playstation or Nintendo Wii) then it may clearly be deduced that Microsoft does not see a viable future for Blu-ray. Microsoft has been wrong in the past (remember when Microsoft was mistaken as to their belief that the Internet wouldn’t be a huge ‘hit’?) however Microsoft have certainly chosen the correct strategy more often than not.
It is still early days for Blu-ray however it still has its fair share of detractors!
